What the Hell is a Shacket?

Jackets or Shackets – the best transitional jackets to team with your tee

What to wear on unpredictable spring days or sunny afternoons cooling to chilly evenings. Perfect for your cup of coffee on a bench in the park with catch up with a friend.

‘What the hell is a shacket?’, I hear you ask. Well, whilst not for everyone (I’m a bit too broad-shouldered to wear the shirt-length version) it’s a tribute to the lumberjack shirt in an oversized plaid to be worn as an overshirt.  It’s been around for a while and its popularity keeps on growing.

Arket have a wool shacket in mauve and chocolate that would be perfect with Vibe or Bliss.

Not wanting to spend too much money? H&M have a simple, unchecked version with a recycled materials component that is part of their eco drive. One for those who find the oversized check too much, team with Joy in heather grey.

In a spin off from the shorter shackets my version of a shacket is one I wore the other day and was much commented on. It's from Zara and I teamed it with Joy in white on green.  The colour match was perfection.

Hush also have a great colourway, black and a proper blue which is longer length.  There is no doubt that your partner might makes jokes about you leaving the house in your dressing gown, but you know the importance of dressing for you and you alone and will have the added benefit of being cosy AF.

Lorna Ruby has a cosy and cute little zip up reversible Bellerose jacket in Off White or Khaki that would work well with any number of outfits.

I love this buttoned up little wool jacket in pastel pink from & Other Stories.  Personally, I’d probably have it unbuttoned but I think it would be really cosy with jeans and a Vibe tee.  An effortless look. The colour is bang on for this Spring. This is an easy pink for people to wear and matches Vibe perfectly, tone it down by wearing it with Vibe on heather grey or heather blue.

This cream cotton utility jacket from Cos is simple to sling on but looks like you’ve made an effort.  It will work with everything plus… pockets for days.  I’d team with Namaste, black jeans and stompy boots. In fact, anything from the Love collection would be clean and smart.
